Next 9th and 11th of September, Zarc will be present in the Lebanese capital at the Asia Pacific Endodontic Confederation (APEC)
During September 9th and 11th, the Asia Pacific Endodontics Confederation will hold its 21st Scientific Congress and the Lebanese Society of Endodontics its 16th International Congress. Both milestones will take place at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Hotel where large companies from the endodontic sector will meet to put together the latest market developments. In addition, the space will serve for numerous internationally renowned doctors, researchers and academics to offer different conferences and clinical workshops.
Goals and history of APEC
The history of the Asia Pacific Endodontics Confederation (APEC) begins in December 1985 in Bankgkok, Thailand. This was the first of two organizational meetings of representatives of participating national endodontic societies and associations in the Asia Pacific region.
The second meeting took place in Manila, Philippines, in November 1986. The main task accomplished at the meeting was the finalization of the first constitution. This constitution was subsequently ratified during the first APEC scientific congress that took place in New Delhi, India, in January 1988. The confederation and its constitution were registered with the Hong Kong Registrar of Companies in November 1989.
The main objectives of APEC are to promote, develop and maintain high standards of research, teaching and practice in the Asia Pacific region as well as to cultivate and foster closer professional relationships among endodontic professionals in the Asia Pacific region.

• Contemporary endodontics will be covered, in three parallel conference sessions, by various speakers such as academics, researchers, and clinical leaders.
• The speakers (guests, sponsors…) from each country representing APEC will be located in the different rooms depending on their topic and subject.
• The opening ceremony will take place on September 9, 2021 at 11:00 am
• The large commercial exhibition with the latest equipment. Instruments and materials will take place from Tuesday 9 at 9:00 am to Saturday 11 at 4:00 pm

In addition, our KOL José Aranguren will be one of the speakers present in which he will present a new reason for discussion: “Modern endodontics, new endodontic procedures: let’s save the teeth” in which he will focus on developing the theory of conservative endodontics. One of the specialties that have evolved the most in recent years since it has gone from the need to extract damaged pieces to maintaining those same teeth thanks to the knowledge of the experts and the latest technologies. Some of these techniques are retreatment, apical surgery, revascularization, reimplantation, autotransplantation, treatment of the vital pulp, etc.
He will also discuss CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography), a more reliable and accurate tool for evaluating periapical periodontitis since, until now, periapical radiography has been the only way to assess the outcome of endodontic treatment.
At the end of Aranguren’s presentation, attendees should be able to evaluate the result of endodontic treatment, understand the use of new treatment instruments and be able to describe the concept of total surgical treatment.
Another important Belgium-based international opinion leader who will be present at the talks is Arman Gazi.
Gazi will present in his talk the debate of endodontics versus implants “Endo vs Implants” in an information age in which patients are over-informed.
This overabundance of information can generate misunderstanding or confusion and this is where the professional must intervene and establish a relationship of trust with the patient.
Workshops
