Zarc celebrates excellence in Dental Research at the 2023 Gaceta Dental Awards

The Spanish dental community recently gathered to commemorate the 26th edition of the Gaceta Dental Awards. This annual event, which has become a milestone on the dental calendar, recognizes and celebrates the outstanding achievements of professionals in the field across various disciplines. Zarc, as the sponsor of the “Best Scientific Article” award, played a prominent role in this evening filled with achievements and accolades.
Close to 300 dental professionals gathered at the 26th Gaceta Dental Awards, which took place at the Teatro Goya. The event, hosted and enlivened by Olympic fencing medalist José Luis Abajo, known as “Pirri,” began with his inspiring words of welcome before handing over the stage to Ignacio Rojas, President of Peldaño Media Group.

Recognizing Excellence in Dentistry
The Gaceta Dental Awards are widely recognized as a benchmark in the dental industry, aimed at publicly acknowledging the outstanding work of professionals in various dentistry-related disciplines. This year, the awards were divided into twelve categories grouped into four blocks: professionals, students, innovation and management, and society and culture.
One of the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the “Best Scientific Article” award, sponsored by Zarc. The recipient of this distinction was Dr. Alba Regueira Iglesias for her outstanding work titled “Salivary Microbiome as a Diagnostic Tool for Periodontitis.” This study, published in the February 2023 issue of Gaceta Dental, also bears the names of Drs. Triana Blanco Pintos, Carlos Balsa Castro, Manuela Alonso Sampedro, Mercedes González Peteiro, and Inmaculada Tomás.
The award was presented by Daniel Díez Romero, CEO of Zarc, who emphasized the importance of research in the continuous evolution of the dental field.
